cerula isn't really hard scifi as much as it's the lower tech prequel to a space opera
honestly within the setting, silly Gundam style particle beams are already a thing, early prototype (somewhat unstable) energy shields are a decade away, and I've definitely dropped hints that FTL tech is possible and that most of the other generation ships reached their destinations
I dunno if I'm ever gonna do much with that future other than maybe timeskip my blorbos as an epilogue but yeah honestly you probably shouldnt be taking the tech too seriously in the first place lol
