Finding My Comfy Place

I have thoughts to share, and...perhaps an audience? I'm a hopeful kinda guy. Working on artistic pursuits simultaneously more and less than I should.

So, I've been going onto this website every so often in an attempt to understand the basics of Assembly programming. And hot damn, does it give me an insane level of respect for the computer game developers who made content for retro systems. Directly programming commands for a machine is probably one of the highest-level things that I've actually bothered looking into much at all, and there so many ways in which a program written in Assembly could get fucked up because you, the developer, have to keep track of so many moving parts. But the granular control it gives you over the resulting program almost makes it seem like pixel art of the programming world.

I dunno. It's always fun to see how things were done in ye olden days and figure out for yourself just how many hurdles old developers had to jump through in getting anything done.
