netflix recently made batman TAS available to me so i've been throwing it on for background noise. i never actually watched it beyond a couple of episodes here and there, but for the longest time i've always associated kevin conroy's voice with the character, so much so that he IS batman as far as i'm concerned.
i can say the same for mark hamil as the joker, but his depiction in at least the earlier episodes is a lot different than i'm used to. i feel like a lot of more recent hamil jokers tend to have this sorta raspiness to them - a bit more of an edge. that could just be because hamil has gotten older but some of gravel is still present in hamil's earlier joker. compared to later performances though it's more like
i'm not sure how to describe the difference but in terms of comparison every time he speaks my brain goes to cab calloway lol
and i have no idea if that's intentional but given the 50s title cards in the show and the suit joker wears i could imagine that's the vibe he's going for here.
it's kinda throwing me honestly. i've heard a lot of joker done by hamil but the earliest depiction is different enough to feel strange.
