@Lizstar

Every damn day before I go to bed, I lay in bed and read yuri until I fall asleep. And then I post cute little snippits from it (or really dumb snippits from it) onto this website for your enjoyment. And I get a lot of people who go "Liz, as the world's leading yuri sommelier, what would you recommend?"

And I always say just ask and I'll give you a yuri or two to tide you over, but someone suggested I just put that shit in a post SO I'MMA PUT THAT SHIT IN A POST

I already did one of these big ol' posts, but that was was entirely series that were finished (for the most part. I did have one on there had had a continuation, and one that's ending in three days). There's way more yuri out there. All of these are series (still no one-shots, I may do that some day) that have not been fully completely, or not fully translated. These are still ongoing, so if you're gonna read them and get into them, I recommend you do what I do and put them in a bookmark and consider them as occasional update webcomics lol

If you like any of these, let me know whatcha think, and consider supporting the artists and writers! You can often find a way to do that on the website I'm linking. Many of these are licensed, in fact, and you can get official translations and books of em. And some you can ONLY get in that way. I recommend that.

BRING ON THE GIRLS! ....A LOT of them, in fact! I've written up over thirty different series that you can go read, right now, and should, because they're quite good. Wow. That's a lot. This took me all afternoon lol anyways ENOUGH TALK, TIME FOR LESBIANISM.

I Don't Know Which One is Love

yuri

Warnings: Harem. One of the pairings is teacher x student. college kids.

Mei-chan just graduated highschool with her heart broken. The girl she was crushing on, her best friend, is straight as can be. Now that she's going into college she's decided not only will she reinvent herself, but she'll GET A GIRLFRIEND! Very quickly, however, she meets five girls that she immediately falls head over heels in love with, and they also seem to be pretty into her, each in their own ways...

You have Riri, the touchy snuggly sweet friend who's a bit reserved and shy, but has a surprising past as a sexy model. There's Maria-Sensei, a psychology professor at the college who is The Mommy type and thinks Mei is the cuttest thing in the world. Minato Senpai, a prince-like older student who's extremely into music, sound, and especially ASMR, and immediately falls in love with Mei's voice, and also gets Mei involved in the local arts scene. That art scene also includes Karin-Senpai, an aspiring actor who is a kiss demon playgirl who IMMEDIATELY starts making out with Mei. Then finally, there's Mei's roommate, the irreverent ace senpai Kaoru, who takes a liking to Mei... and has a tendency to have her Switch Get Flipped when smelling Kaoru, due to a rather strong kink.

Yes, every character loves Mei for a different reason, and they're all based on the five senses.

yuri

No real clue where this one is going yet. It seems to ME to be a deconstruction of a lot of harem anime tropes, intentionally, and a bit of a parody of the idea, while also just being a good gay harem manga. Pretty much all the characters are fun in their own way. It's 100% possible this will go the mythical route, the route that people like me would DREAM of seeing in a harem manga: THE POLYAMORY ROUTE. But we will have to see.

Read this if you're into: Cute blushing girls. Girls being OBVIOUSLY super into each other. Lots of horny energy. A varied and fun cast.

If you like this, consider checking out: Tamamusi's previous works. Bright and Cheery Amnesia girl is good and I would have recommended it in my previous post but that post was 18 works long and I needed to stop somewhere. That one is a goofy romance about a girl who loses her memories, reverts to her high school self, and finds out she's ten years older and has a banging hot girlfriend now.

Anemone Is In Heat

yuri

Warnings: High school girls. Mild drama.

Nagisa has just entered high school. It was not her first highschool choice... she, in fact, failed the exam for her first choice, because she missed the exam time because she was helping a sick girl. In her shame of failure, she reinvents herself, becoming a cool beauty. On her first day at her new school, however, she finds out that same girl who caused her to fail is in her class! And though she knows it's not her fault, she can't help but hate this student, Mashiro. Mashiro, however, quickly takes a liking to Nagisa...

yuri

This quickly evolves into some cute fluff romance between the two of them as they grow closer, both trying to change who they are. Nagisa doesn't want to hate Mashiro for something she couldn't control, and Mashiro wants to stop being a sickly burden on everyone. They carry each other out of this depression and these negative feelings. There's also side romances that I'll be real, I'm not as into. Nagisa and Mashiro are the real stars.

Read this if you like: blushing girls who can barely contain crushes but don't quite get it yet. Some mild drama but nothing serious.

She Loves to Cook, and She Loves to Eat

yuri

Cooking is how Nomoto de-stresses, but she has a tendency to cook way more than she could ever possibly eat by herself. So she invites her neighbor Kasuga, who lives alone and seems to really enjoy her food. What evolves from this is a close relationship, born of food and a love for it, which grows closer with each meal.

yuri

This one is honestly pretty stunning. What starts as just a cute slice of life slow burn romance becomes one of the gayest god damn things. It has commentary on everything LGBT, with good ace rep, and you get real invested in the romance between these two.

Read this one if you like: Gay women. Seriously. Also, food. Every chapter is about cooking a different dish.

Hana ni Arashi

yuri

Warnings: Highschool girls. Not much else.

Chidori and Nanoha are best friends. But even more than that, they are in love. But they keep their relationship a secret from everyone. Hiding from prying eyes, they spend their days flirting sneakily, fretting from the constant interruptions.

yuri yuri

This is a slice of life manga about two girlfriends in an all girl school who are hiding their relationship because they don't want to be teased by their friends. Not like, in a homophobic way. More in a "we will never hear the end of it" way. So this is easier. It's simple and cute.

Read this if you like: Simple, slice of life. Very VERY mild drama, if any at all. Idiot couples.

For Some Reason Suddenly I Wanted To..... With the Coworker Who Sits Next to Me

yuri

Warnings: Lightly NSFW.

Hayami Tomoka has a really serious problem. She wants to get laid. But that's such a hassle, and boys are too much... Anyway, unrelated to that, there's a coworker who sits next to her at work, the uptight Kohashi Mami. They don't get along very well. But one day after a long day at the office, the two go out and grab some drinks and find they're easier to talk to than they expected! And it turns out, Kohashi also has a serious problem, herself...

yuri

This was originally a short story that has been updated and added to with new chapters every now and then when the author feels like it.

How do I Get together With my Childhood Friend?

yuri

Warnings: High school girls.

Minami and Yuzu are close as friends can be. Friends and neighbors all their lives, they are inseperable, doing everything together. They're quite opposites, the two of them: Minami is a serious hardworker who hyperfocuses on things she puts her mind to and is friendly and well loved at school, and Yuzu is an ADHD addled spacey girl who really only focuses on her hobbies and interests, like astronomy, and is kinda shy and keeps to herself. But they've been together as long as they can remember, and nothing will ever change that!

Then one day, Minami overhears Yuzu being confessed to... and she realizes something about herself.

yuri yuri

Read this one if you like: Idiot couples and useless lesbians. ESPECIALLY Minami. For a smart serious girl she's so god damn wife-brained that it overwhelms everything else about her.

I Favor the Villainess

yuri

Warnings: Incest as a plot point. Pushy main character (it chills out extremely after the first few chapters).

So, there's a genre of manga that is very, very popular. Isekai into an otome game, where the main character falls in love with the villain of that story. I'm about to post like, three of these in a row, and they all have similar tropes and ideas, but are all good in their own ways.

In this one, ordinary office worker Rei wakes one day to find she's in the body of the protagonist of her favorite otome game, Revolution. She knows this world inside and out, as she's one of the most prolific fanfic writers of this world, so she's researched it back and forth, especially involving her favorite character, the villainess, Vlaire Francois. The character has a tragic end in the story of the game, and Rei always wrote fanfic to change that. Now that she's the mary sue protagonist, with incredible magic power, she will do everything in her power to protect Claire. The same Claire who hates commoners and is annoyed at Rei's very existence.

yuri

Read this if you like: Serious fantasy and political storylines, but with gay romance smacked into it. Isekai with a super knowledgable main character. villainess isekai, specifically ones with an ineffectual not actually bad villain (Claire is rough but good deep down). Good art.

The Fed Up Office Lady Wants to Serve the Villainess

yuri

Stop me if you've heard this one. Mitori is an ordinary office worker who is Isekai'd into the world of her favorite otome game, one she knows inside and out. She is summoned, through her phone, to the world by the villainess, Lapis Tenenbrae, who is a cold chessmaster that Mitori knows is going to start a genocide against commoners. But Mitori, who had just been fired and was finding it hard to continue to live, now is given a new place to live, and new work to do, as her "miraculous future-telling" (she just knows the story very well) and office worker skills gets her hired by Lapis as her personal secretary. Mitori finally has a place to belong. And she decides, she's going to do everything in her power to save Lapis and give the story a happy end.

yuri

Read this if you like: Useless women. Some unhealthy relationship vibes. Love triangles. Isekai, specifically villainess isekai. Serious and political plots.

Please Bully Me, Miss Villainess!

yuri

Yvonne has been reincarnated into the world of an otome game as the rich villainess! According to the game's plot, her loathsome role is to do little more than bully and mistreat the poor heroine of the story, Elsa. Yvonne doesn't want to fit into her new role, but the game has a built in Villainess System that will punish her and harm those she cares about if she doesn't do exactly what it says. It's hard to do that though, when she doesn't want to hurt Elsa, and when Elsa seems to be... intentionally getting closer and closer to Yvonne, almost as if...

yuri yuri

Read this if you like: Villainess Isekai but with a bit of a twist compared to the others. Gay girls trying to avoid the Obvious. Some mild drama and serious plot, but mostly it's about Gay Girls Being Gay.

Kase-San

yuri

Warnings: High School girls. Some love triangle stuff later on.

Yamada-san and Kase-san are accquaintences in high school together. Kase is the star track runner of the school, and Yamada is the simple but sweet plant appointee. It's love at first sight for Yamada, as she keeps finding her eyes drawn to the cool Kase-san. And Kase keeps getting closer to her, acting friendly... This is about their growing relationship, and them growing as people as they graduate high school.

yuri yuri

This series IS done, but the same characters got a sequel series, which is still going!

Read this if you like: Cute and sweet slice of life. I dunno if I'm doing this one justice, it's one of the most popular yuri series out there right now, very cute and sweet. I legit just started reading it instead of continuing with this post okay continuing now

My Cute Little Kitten

yuri

Warnings: Some heavy drama and angst

Rena and Yuna are roommates, and have been roommates since college. Yuna is a serious hardworker, and very very gay and in love with Rena. Not that Rena knows that. Rena is a bit of a slacker and goofs off. But one day Yuna comes home to find that Rena has adopted a kitten she found outside. Their entire dynamic in the house changes as that cat enters, and feelings begin to overflow....

My Wish is to Fall in Love Until You Die

yuri

Warning: Violence, blood, death, child soldiers

Shiina is a child at an orphanage that raises magical assassins. They are sent, while still in school, to fight against a neighboring country they've been at war with for generations. No one even remembers why. Shiina's roommate dies in one of these battles, and she's left alone. She's not particularly skilled in magic, or noteworthy in any way. But one day, she meets the school's "Secret Weapon", Mimi, a young girl who happens to be immortal. Mimi grows attached to Shiina, and the two start their new life together as Mimi becomes her new roommate.

yuri

Read this if you like: Some seriousness in your yuri. Like, people die. Main characters die. Anything can and will happen, and it doesn't hold back on the gruesomeness and depression of it all. But at the center of all of this is Shiina and Mimi, growing closer.

My Food Looks Very Cute

yuri

Warning: Vampires, blood, some angst and drama

Maria is an ancient vampire who sealed herself away, hundreds of years ago. She's suddenly reawoken from her slumber by a cute werewolf girl, Xinglang. Her coffin had a curse, however. Whoever wakes her up must be her food for one whole year, and then they will forget everything about Maria once that year is up. This becomes... complicated once Maria moves in with Xinglang and her friend, living in the modern world surrounded by Humans, and she begins to fall for the cute werewolf girl...

yuri

Read this if you like: REALLY cute stuff. Really, there's some really good fluff here, and werewolf x vampire is an adorable pairing. Also lots of interpersonal drama and relationship stuff.

Warnings: School Girls, Mild Drama

This is one of the BIG ONES right now. Like, the most popular yuri you could imagine. This shit slaps.

Mitsuki is a wallflower at school. Your typical nerd. But in reality, she's really into grunge and punk rock from the United States. She works at her uncle's shop and lives and breaths music. She doesn't have anyone to connect with about this, but that's okay... until it turns out her classmate, the popular gyaru Aya, is really into that kind of music too. And one day she enters the shop, and falls head over heels for Mitsuki, dressed up in a hoodie and mask... not even realizing the gender of the person she's crushing on!

As their other friends get married and have kids aroudn them, Kurumi doesn't think she'll EVER be able to achieve that kind of life, and isn't sure if she WANTS to. But Ruriko offers her a suggestion: Hey, gay marriage is being legalized soon. In five years, if neither of us are married, why don't we just... get married?

And so it begins. Now for her magazine column, Kurumi writes about her new life as a newly-wed to her best friend! I'm sure there's no deep hidden emotions behind all of THIS, right? Just some friends!

in reply to @Lizstar's post:

  1. the guy she liked wasn’t a guy at all is so popular that an incredibly cishet friend of mine once sent it to me unprompted despite it being something i don’t think he’d ever choose read
  2. it’s so frustrating that i can’t go back and binge night owls and summer skies… especially since webtoon owns most of the rights to it, since it’s an adaptation that they commissioned artists for, which im pretty sure makes any ad rev go straight to webtoon and not the people who actually made it

fabulous list though, a bunch of familiar faces and a ton of new ones that i’m really looking forward to reading!

Great list. Small warning to anyone who wants to read the follow up to Kase-San, it's full of drama, almost all of it because everyone refuses to communicate and misunderstand things (sometimes basically the same thing multiple arcs in a row). I ended up dropping it myself because I find that kind of drama annoying more than anything.

Oh, also, She Loves to Cook, and She Loves to Eat is amazing. I can't get over how good it is and how cute the two main characters are! I also like that it focuses on the idea of found family and the like, which is something that resonates with me a lot. I was going to say Trying Out Marriage With My Female Friend was my favourite ongoing series but I finished vol. 3 of She Loves to Cook, and She Loves to Eat a couple days ago but it's just lodged in my heart in a way few manga do. (Also, as a demi person myself, the ace rep is on point and I find it hard to pass up good ace rep!)

I remember reading this from a comment in a forum about an interview in Japanese. I can't find it just from a quick search, unfortunately, and I have NO clue where that post'd be in that forum. So hey, it COULD just be bullshit. But it was parroted a LOT in that forum, I do remember that.
