So I’m back home in Ireland after visiting my mum. I was able to put some time each day i was there into scanning all the books on the shelf into my book collection app. Here’s some stats
- The shelf contains 918 volumes. That means I took about 80 with me to Ireland over the years, as it used to have just over 1000.
- I counted about 20 duplicate volumes. Oops.
- My book app says that’s 193,413 pages. Idk if that’s correct, but that’s a lot of pages
- I spent at least £3,843 on this lol. Every book that still has a purchase price sticker on it got logged. Only about half of them had a price record I could log… so I guess it’s probably about double this. Over 15 years i guess that’s not too bad
- Two of the most dominant publishers in this collection (TokyoPop and Del Ray) don’t even exist anymore, which is kinda wild (idk what’s up with TokyoPop’s ownership? They seem to be back… again? It’s weird. It’s like buying a new game and seeing Atari’s logo on the box and thinking wtf how did that happen)
- the two most prolific Mangaka in this collection were Clamp (59 volumes) and Ken Akamatsu (55 volumes) that probably tells you a lot about lotte as a teen.
- I am actually missing a few volumes of Negima- idk where they have gone, I had a complete collection of that- This suggests that some books have gone walkies.
Huh that’s weird I wonder why? Anyways that’s 758 books… plus the 15 I bought yesterday… I hope my mums car dosnt fall apart or something wild like that
EDIT: I carried all those boxes up the stairs I finally got my books home t-t well most of em
