every other post i see in the introductions tag: “hey i guess i have an account here now. idk i might stick around if this place gets more active but who knows. seems really dead here to me tho”

my actual feed: literally flooded with posts i need to unfollow people and clean stuff up because cohost has become too active for my current browsing habits

Yeah this place is quite active, I'm having a far easier go of it than I did Mastodon for example. I think people just need to learn how to use it.

  1. Use tags, they're bloody magical. Bookmark tags for stuff you like. Bookmark especially #The Cohost Global Feed. Check the tags on posts you like and bookmark any tags that seem like good topics to follow there. Abuse the heck out of this system, seriously, it makes all the difference.

  2. Follow people. Follow everyone. Everyone who has ever posted anything you thought was remotely cool or funny. You can always unfollow them later. No one gets notified if you unfollow, no one has follow counts, and no one can see each other's follows and followers. So just follow people.

With these two tips, Cohost's activity will magically burst to life.
