Over on my Twitter I've got a thread going of game recommendations from stuff I've played this year, basically whenever I finish a game I liked, it goes on the thread. Figured I'd also start cross-posting those here (with some Bonus Text™️ since I don't have to deal with a character limit).

EDIT: I was putting these in a thread of shared/reshared posts, but on second thought long threads aren't really the ideal way to post on this site, so I'm putting them all under the tag #Luke's Faves 2022 instead as individual posts.

First up...

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles (Capcom, 2021)

I wasn't sure if this duology of Holmesian (or should it be Sholmesian?) adventure games would ever make it out of Japan, but I'm so glad they finally got localized, because they're now easily my favorite Ace Attorney games.

The GAA take on Holmes is really fun, they play around with the idea that the depictions of him in the books are intentionally flattering distortions of the real man, even as Sholmes turns out to be a consistently invaluable ally. He's good enough at reading people to tell when they're hiding something or to get a telling reaction out of them, but when it comes to drawing conclusions from the facts at hand, he consistently arrives at the most harebrained theories imaginable. He's ridiculous and I love him.
