a blog that i'll maybe do something with in the future!

The way the vocals play with switching between talking, rhythmic spoken-poetry-like vocals and more melodic singing, and moreover the way all that plays with the instruments...

the drums entering with a rhythm similar to the vocals' previous phrase at the same time the vocals also end up almost syncing with it with the very rhythmic "mikazuki", and after that also all the very rhythmic lyrics; the use of mimetic words and those immediately being followed by sound effects (kiraaaan~) is so fun; that pause in the middle before the storm part, where it's only the breathing and the held notes as their instrumental counterpart, and how the thunder then breaks the song and resets the vocals to talking mode, but then also that the vocals find yet another form via being added to the instruments via sampling! That whole final section where it starts really building on itself and accelerating... !!

I'm not saying any of that is groundbreaking, but i'm so so transfixed by the execution!

in reply to @LysergZeroz's post:

I know just enough about Japanese having a high level of rhythmic patterns in its spoken delivery to ignorantly wonder if that makes some of the effects in this song easier to achieve than they might be in other languages.

Thanks very much for the link! Listening to that whole EP now.
