short answer: yes. long answer below
ok so like. i am personally of the opinion that there is some value to numbers, but that said value is waaaaaaaaay lower than most people seem to think. a common view i've seen expressed is that cohost is bad for virality because of the lack of numbers, but imo this is reductive and misguided. you were not going viral because of numbers, you were going viral because you made a thing that resonated in the exact way things need to resonate to go viral. the numbers were just an easy way to look and say "wow look how big my Posting Dick is," they didn't actually mean anything real, and the overwhelming majority of people do not need them and will likely benefit from not having them.
we're planning to have opt-in metrics when we launch user subscriptions, but with some serious restrictions on them, partially because we DO NOT want a site culture where widespread numbers exist, partially because collecting data for Really Detailed Metrics sucks and we don't want to do that either. we don't know for sure what these restrictions are gonna be yet (i personally want to restrict metrics access to users that are also offering subscriptions; i do not have full buy-in on this) but they're gonna exist.
this is an area we're gonna be soliciting feedback on once it becomes relevant. it's not relevant yet tho.
