Quick Overview

In Trash of the Titans, you play as a group of trash eating animals trying to protect your trash from Rats. The art style originally reminded me of Into the Breach, though as I looked at that game again, this one definitely has a more pixel art vibe. It's a turn based tactics game, so you will be going between characters and using their abilities to protect your trash. It's also a roguelike (lite?) where each run will present you with different ability options. The game also has randomized encounters.

  • Overall Rating:9/10; A lot of fun, and an easy recommend if you like PVE shooters

Quick Overview

Helldivers 2 is a third person PVE shooter game. You play as Helldivers liberating the galaxy. The game features a great sense of progression and really commits to the bit. It's also refreshing that most of the unlocks in the game can only be unlocked by actually playing the game, rather than just paying money for them.

It's happened a couple of times today, and maybe it's just because i'm getting into the higher level missions, but people seem way too eager to just.. leave the game?

I just finished solo-ing an extreme mission against the terminids. The game started with a full party. Upon getting there, two people immediately ran the opposite direction me and another helldiver were running. They were going straight for a terminid hive on the other side of the map that we'd get to later anyways because of our objective, but for some reason they bee-lined it there. Me and the other person started going to complete the objectives (2 sub objectives then a main). It takes a while to do the objectives because, even though this second person was closer to me, they weren't on the objective itself. This was fine, divide and conquer and all that. Just took me a little bit.

As I completed the first sub-objective , the two people who ran to the other side of the map left, one after the other. I know they died a handful of times but like... we were making progress? Then as I'm on my way towards the second sub-objective, the person who was near-er to me decided to leave. So then I finished the second sub-objective, finished the primary objective, and then finally got swarmed too much at extract. Something like 4 or 5 chargers plus a bunch of misc bugs.

And like... idk to me it's like, you're in a mission, you can have a comeback, why just leave? One of my friends mentioned while a comeback is possible, the games not fun, so he leaves games at times. And idk that's just... weird to me? Comebacks can be a lot of fun, and seems weird to me to just like... give up?

So, with all the changes Discord has been making I'm a bit concerned about its longevity. This has me thinking of apps I used before Discord, and Teamspeak was one of them. I haven't used it in years at this point, and wondering if anyone has any thoughts on using it (or another program) to replace Discord potentially? It's one of those things where I doubt currently I could convince any of my friends to switch off, but I'd like to look into options now in case Discord gets worse.

I did some quick Googling online and it seems the biggest benefit to Teamspeak is better sound quality and privacy. The pricing I was slightly confused on if there's a free version or what hosting a server is like. Any thoughts/ comments/ suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
