I'm currently listening to episode 158 of Cortex and Gray talks about an experiment with Claude AI (an AI I've not heard of before) where researchers had two versions of the AI talk to each other, with a human watching (which it tells the AI), and according to Gray one of the versions started having a mental break down, and the one not having the break down begged researchers to turn off the one having the mental break down.

I'm looking to try and find the article or experiment he's referencing, but having a hard time and hoping maybe someone else knows what he's referring to? I'd like to be able to read exactly what was said between the two AI.

In this Cortex episode, Myke and Grey talked about good travel mics and Myke mentioned getting a USB-C/ XLR mic for Grey to use while traveling. Myke suggested the Shure MV7+ but I just wanted to take a moment to shout out the microphone I use - the Audio Technica ATR2100x-USB.

I'll start off by saying I'm no where close to the professional Myke and Grey are when it comes to this sort of thing. I used to podcast with one of my friends and now pretty much only use it for voice chat with friends while gaming. So I'm sure there are probably aspects of microphones and sound quality that I don't even know about that they're taking into consideration.

I wanted to mention this microphone though because of it's price, and when I got this mic pretty much all my friends complemented it saying they couldn't even tell I was using a mic - it came through so clear it felt like I was just there in the room with them.

The only downside I've noticed with the mic is its pickup range is pretty small. You gotta be really close to this mic for it to pick you up. I use it with an XLR mixer most of the time, but I've noticed the same behavior (and quality) when using the USB-C version.

I originally came across this mic from this blog post, which I think was originally mentioned on Cortex funny enough. But the mic can now be gotten for $50 a piece and I've gotten 3 or 4 of them now because of how much I like them. I should clarify that it's not because they've broken, but because I'm sometimes in a room with 3 or 4 of us who all need microphones, and this is the one I like the most.

If you'd like a sample of the microphone, that blog I listed in the paragraph above has some, as well as I"m pretty sure the entire time I made the Ixhia Podcast with my friend I used that mic.
