Brief Overview

  • Price (Steam): $39.99
  • Time Played: 89 Hours at time of writing
  • Overall Rating:9/10; A lot of fun, and an easy recommend if you like PVE shooters

Quick Overview

Helldivers 2 is a third person PVE shooter game. You play as Helldivers liberating the galaxy. The game features a great sense of progression and really commits to the bit. It's also refreshing that most of the unlocks in the game can only be unlocked by actually playing the game, rather than just paying money for them.

After seeing Meta Ai show up in my Facebook Messenger, I want to again urge people to use messaging apps that aren't owned by Facebook. I talk about it a bunch on my blog here, but overall something with end to end encryption is a great start. I personally really like Signal.

It's just tough because I know personally I have a few friend groups that refuse to move off of Facebook, or just don't really care about privacy. But it's just...concerning to me how much AI is being pushed in everything. Hell even my notetaking app Notion has Ai in it. Every time I see Ai somewhere my reaction is "oh god why". With Facebook like, obviously they've been collecting data for years but wild to be so blatant about it.

Intro

I originally made a Freshrss post here, but since then I've had to reinstall Freshrss manually. I decided to do this as I kept having a weird issue with docker where Freshrss would just stop running? I'm not exactly sure why it started acting this way, but I figured it was time to move away from docker. I wanted to leave the original post up though, as I feel like it has a lot of good info that you might also need here (Like giving your computer a static IP address), as well as in case anyone else did want to try it with docker on their end.

Now, I will say, I don't think manually installing Freshrss is something I'd recommend the average person does. I already felt like setting it up via docker was a bit of a hassle for the general user, but this way takes it up a notch. The biggest hurdle in my eyes is setting up a reverse proxy like Nginx. You can read about my struggles with a reverse proxy here. In particular setting up https can be a real hassle.
