playing FF9 again and thinking about how much I love Quina. Tbh one of my favorite parties, outside the fact Zidane is kinda anime-pervert guy insufferable. Vivi probably is still my favorite. I love Freya i just wish the game didn't like, just do her entire plot at the end of disc 1/early disc 2 then just never do much else with her...
Still, given how many friends of mine didn't really enjoy 9 to the same degree as 7 or 8 part of me was worried revisiting it might make me feel more negative towards it but... nah. It's great. Still some of my favorite designs, still some of my favorite party members, still some of my favorite minigames and weird little side things to do. I still just really love it. Which I guess I should be glad that I just love playing all 3 numbered Final Fantasy PS1 games, it means I get the most meal of anyone lmao.

Qu are strange. Just like. Genderless frog-clowns? Well, the tongue makes me think of a frog, and then the eye marks make me think of a clown, but idek what's going on with them.
FF9 has so many cool species of sentient people around tho, like. Burmecians and Cleyrans are so good, Qu are fun, Black Mages are cool, and there's just like, people with animal traits all over the place, like the Hippo people or the fish headed people, and I kinda just enjoy it? Thinking about it also because thinking about how I find the playable selection in FFXIV kinda boring after talking to some friends about it lmao. But FF9 is full of fun friends that I project onto. I'd love to be a weird genderless frog clown, or a little mage with no distinct features but glowing eyes.
