I realised that GB Rober's first anniversary is coming up next week and though I can't really do the big content update that I wanted, I still felt like adding some minor quality of life improvements today.
Well, first I had to wrestle with Game Maker's "new" (it actually came out over a year ago, but I only recently updated my version of Game Maker) way of handling the steam integration, which involved several hours of yelling.
After the yelling came the work of changing what little of a tutorial the game had, to make it less confusing and then adding an option to skip the intro sequence (which is fairly long and apparently lead to a handful of refunds, because people thought the controls weren't responding) and a way to go into the game's assist/modifier menu, before they start playing. The latter thing I took (like the whole assist mode idea in general) from Analgesic Production's criminally underrated platformer "Even the Ocean".
The update will probably go live sometime next week, along with a discount on Steam for the game. I also plan on doing some speedruns of the game, since the current world record (currently held by me) is not very good.
