The only real thing you need to do, in order to become an Authority in any subject is to just claim that you are one for long enough.

After I learned everything there is about the human bone, I decided it would be more fun to blow up digital worlds.

There's a particular dude in games who was pretty difficult to avoid for a while and every single new thing he becomes a consultant on, total expert from day one. He used to have a column in a mag for a while and ran a blog full of weird opinions but nothing, absolutely nothing, beat him getting a job at OUYA after becoming their Number One Personal Fan. Within a week he'd sent out guidance to everyone on how to have a free to play hit - you know that thing that requires thousands upon thousands of people to turn a profit - on the OUYA.
Anyway. I blocked him on Twitter. Last time I looked he was an XR/VR expert but he's probably onto blockchain or something now.
This has bit of a vibe of a 19th century traveling sales person who sells bullshit to people in one town, leaves the next day and then sells some other bullshit the next town over.
