I might be many years removed from University, but back then I was very into all that stuff and I just can't live with being confronted with slightly wrong interpretations of how humans currently think that animal groups are related to one another.

Idk how many you consider "many years" to be, but university was a handful of years ago for me, so my equivalent feels more like being confronted with slightly wrong interpretations of space stuff???
(I was hoping that finally the launch of James Webb would reignite my childhood passion for space, but that hasn't happened yet aaa)
It's been eight years since I got my degree and by that point I was already pretty fed up with everything. My main interest was Paleoanthropology and that field is just such a gigantic mess, because everyone wants to be the person who finds the "real" human ancestor. Every once in a while I catch a glimpse at how the field is doing, and it's still the mostly the same. Maybe they're now talking about newer fossils, or are using slightly different tools, but it's still the same discussions.
