EDIT: i made it even better by making the original wizard orb transparent and grayscale instead of cutting it out entirely
EDIT 2: y'all should also check out this version by the op

After I learned everything there is about the human bone, I decided it would be more fun to blow up digital worlds.

on mobile I fullscreened this post and the orb mysteriously changed color
on desktop, scrolling the page makes it change color continuously. it's a very cool effect! I wish I knew more about CSS or whatever makes this kind of things work :)
this one is made using background-attachment: fixed - it keeps the gradient in the same place while you scroll down the page. and then there is a nice shadow and an overlay for the shine and a configured 'background-blend-mode' to make the shine look how it does. super cool

thanks for the description!
If you press ctrl+shift+c in chrome it'll open the dev tools with a cursor that lets you click on an element in your browser and see what the html and css for it looks like under the hood! you can even edit the html/css straight from dev tools and see what happens, it's a great way to learn! and if you want to learn a bit more about the basics, w3schools has some simple tutorials with live examples you can change :)
I’m getting this effect on mobile because it’s in half the posts on my timeline lol
this also happened to me and I physically reacted like it was a jump scare lol
i love you every-changing orb. never change always changing.
aspect-ratio: 1 / 1; height: 100px; background: radial-gradient(closest-side at 45% 40%, white, 40%, red), repeating-linear-gradient(magenta, yellow, cyan, magenta 50vh) fixed; background-blend-mode: luminosity, normal; border-radius: 50%; box-shadow: 1.5px 5px 17px 0px #0249, -3px -5px 10px inset #0008; margin-bottom: 30px;
oh my god it was perfect before but with the edit it's transcendent
