Sometimes you plan on doing one thing, then you just lose hours tweaking an incidental thing that's not really needed right now, but makes you feel good.

Today, this "thing" was a whole new stats and upgrade system for Virtue's Heaven, that I planned out over the weekend. However, as I was done with the damage calculation stuff, I wanted to add some nice damage numbers that fly up when you punch enemies, and then I spent most of my afternoon twiddling around to make sure that they fly upwards just right. I probably should've shelved this for another time, but also just look at them!

P.S.: The damage you deal behind the scenes is actually ten times lower, but nobody gets excited when they think that their damage is in the single digits.

Not exactly what you proposed, but the damage number that appears when you strike a killing blow is twice as large. Also, I'm pretty sure this will be one of those things I will keep going back to until the game is actually done.
