This is part of something kind of like a character customizer for Virtue's Heaven? The idea is to confront the player with a handful of questions about why they destroying the status quo is the only way forward.


I was contemplating several methods and ended up framing it as a conversation between the player and another character. This forced me to break my "The player doesn't talk, because they have taken a vow of silence until the day's over" (time has kind of stopped moving in the game) rule, but on the other hand I now can maybe add some (gulp) characterization to them?

Anyway, the goal for this whole thing is that, depending on the options you pick, you gain different passive abilities.

I'm also thinking about weaving this whole section into a larger narrative sequence that happens between the game's tutorial and its actual start, because I kind of want to hint at the player traveling for a long time before they get to the place where the actual game takes place, but that is not something I need to decide today.

P.S.: I had to do a lot of finagling with this game's text engine (that I got off the internet), to make it look okay.
