I needed a nice way to initially block off parts of Virtue's Heaven's second and today I asked myself "what if progress is gated by a big pair of calipers that measure your head and then tell you that you're not human enough to gain entry?" and of course I immediately went to work.
I really like this idea, because not only does it fit the theme of the area and the game in general, but I also got to use my Anthropology degree again! Pretty sure I wouldn't have gotten to this idea, if I hadn't very early in this game's development decided to never lock progress behind movement upgrades.
What point is there in making videogames, when you can't gate progress behind giant automated calipers and fake craniometric measurements?
