My verdict on marvel's midnight suns after abt 7 hours:
It's pretty clear that Chimera Squadron was very literally a warmup for this game and in some ways that's interesting (hyper streamlined tactics with very little movement or cover) in other ways it's been vigorously slathered with Oil Of AAA (pointless overworld collectibles you have to run around grabbing between missions, lots of skinner boxy incremental upgrades that feel much less meaningful without a campaign layer that has time pressure, exhausting and poorly written dating sim elements, cutscene after cutscene that NEVER ENDS)
I can see why people enjoy it - the core tactics combat is solid - but man is it accompanied by a truly unprecedented level of cruft for a firaxis game
