Kingsvein is sooo good
It's good in much the way that most of the other rad codex games are good, to be fair - but the classes are especially weird in this one and often useful in way less obvious ways. The first time I realized I could set someone on overwatch and then, when it wasn't triggered during the enemy turn, line up another character to shove an enemy THROUGH the overwatch zone and then into some spikes, hitting them twice, felt absolutely incredible. Everything feels designed for that kind of utility, and many of the most esoteric sounding moves end up being the most reliably useful or interesting (perhaps partially due to the fact that nearly every "bread and butter" simple ability has been removed or made more unusual). There's no Obvious Picks here, only all kinds of strategic options. It feels absolutely great.
