that is the pay I was given at a place where one of my effective supervisors literally told me I was being severely underpaid. as a junior engineer... yeah don't take that, wtf
I don't know if this applies outside NA though. You literally cannot get US level salaries in Europe but largely you'll be in far better financial shape even without that. I guess I'd recommend people to do their research based on cost of living and other things

Yeah agreed, I'm talking more about the case of a European company offering European wages - I've seen multiple people say "oh I couldn't work in Europe they pay too little" and I think that's an uninformed view
That totally makes sense to me, I just have a personal moral crusade against US based companies paying international contractors poorly and that's what I was focusing on haha
the one i most recently saw was pretty audacious but at least there the CDN range was higher than the USD one before the conversion rate even if the end result was being paid about 25% less
