If there's a voice inside of you that nags at you and says it's "cheating" to use assets made by another artist...just tell yourself it's great to get the art out of the way on a personal project or gamejam so that you can focus on the gamedev. You don't always have to do it all, especially if that's not the focus of your current project.
I'm an artist myself and I'm dying to use these assets so that I don't get distracted from finishing a game project. Helps to take a load off the mind and get practice with the other parts of the process instead of getting bogged down.
