5 years for me, and same. I get an email whenever there's a new issue out and go, "oh yeah, that could be interesting to read," and then get immediately distracted

i have such a hard time with this sort of thing because yeah i get newsletters and stuff in other areas of interest too (it's birds sorry i am so predictable) that i also just always forget to read

i feel like so much stuff is either like:

short sounds bites that i can read or listen to but are shallow and don't have much to say

4000 word essays written in long unbroken paragraphs with minimal formatting that my brain absolutely slides off after the first page because i cannot pay attention to that much text that spends three pages on setting the stage without actually going anywhere with it
(im sure they do but by that point im just speed scrolling past it without internalizing anything)

four hour long podcasts or video essays that i can't watch because those are foreground tasks for me and i can't spend four hours of my day on that
(also i can't stay awake for four hours at a time anymore)
