feels like getting credit as a localizer these days is a gauntlet of "does the game developer/publisher want to credit you" followed by the gauntlet of "does the localization company you work at want to credit you". gotta pass both gates to attain the sacred treasure of "I can put what I've worked on on my CV"
I feel like this is directly in line with what I expect of NoA. Especially after all the shenanigans with them running a second building for employees that were treated worse and weren't allowed in the main building.
They do this so the localizers don't get scooped by other companies for their work. So this is working just as intended.
This happened to me when I attempted to get a foot in the door in localization around 20 years ago. The one company that hired me made me sign an NDA that forbid mentioning the game I worked on.
So now I've decided that if I ever get another job doing localization for a game, both credits and allowing me to mention the game in my resume must be part of the contract I sign.
