took me several years to get around to finishing all 8 directions but i'm finally happy with all of them (click for animation if it doesn't go on its own!)
i started this project in earnest to teach myself to do pixel art, and i thought one with 8-way sprites would be a great way for me to learn. while it was, it has certainly made it take quite a bit longer to make all the assets for the game!!

I really like the long rest between flaps instead of a quick flapflapflap rhythm, this is great
the idea, for me, was that she doesn't really need to flap them in order to stay up, but she's not quite perfect at this levitation thing yet ahaha
that's exactly what I was getting! She looks almost weightless, haha. great subtle animation for such a small sprite.
