took me several years to get around to finishing all 8 directions but i'm finally happy with all of them (click for animation if it doesn't go on its own!)

i started this project in earnest to teach myself to do pixel art, and i thought one with 8-way sprites would be a great way for me to learn. while it was, it has certainly made it take quite a bit longer to make all the assets for the game!!

her name's somna btw

This is fresh off the presses and it looks like there isn't even a formal CWA press release yet, at least on their public channels. Nonetheless, this has been confirmed by the new union, OneBGS.

Statement as follows:

Workers at Bethesda Game Studios have joined the Communication Workers of America, forming the first wall-to-wall union at a Microsoft video game studio. The workers, consisting of 241 developers including artists, engineers, programmers and designers have either signed a union authorization card or indicated that they wanted union representation via an online portal. Microsoft has recognized the union.

I just want to note, since misty's post reminded me of it! If you don't have a sense of where queer people and queer communities were at pre-internet, The Body Politic - an explicitly LGBT-focused Canadian magazine that ran throughout the 70s and 80s - is an incredible read and I hugely recommend it. You'll be amazed how many things are different and how many things are shockingly the same. A surreal and sometimes reassuring dive into queer history.
