Modiphius have released a solo play guide for their long-running Star Trek Adventures RPG, called simply Captain's Log. It's a slimmed down, narrative-focused version of the game which features plenty of tables, random generators, and advice on running games not only solo but as cooperative storytelling adventures rather than with a GM and players.
The book suggests keeping a literal log of one's adventures; solutions to problems, high drama points in missions, moments where characters are challenged with success and failure, and so on. It further suggests live play or audio play adaptations and, at least in my case, ain't nobody got time for that. The middle ground is this: Remarkable and her brave crew as presented via Cohost, in a Dracula-style series of log entries, Federation News Network clippings, letters, mission reports and so forth.
Rather than simply writing everything out in one long-form mission report each time - essentially turning the game into a fanfiction generator - instead it'll be a case that little by little the ship and crew are introduced to readers, along with hints, tales, and reports of the adventures the redoubtable little Miranda-class undertakes.
I'll tag entries with #ussremarkableIC and any other relevant tags at the time, and following the advance of Captain's Log I'll also include 'season' and 'episode' numbers when following a specific storyline or adventure.
Welcome aboard!
Let's make it official.
USS Remarkable is on its way.
