Cool tf idea: turning into both a slime and a robot at once. The changes aren’t instant, so some parts melt into goo and some turn to metal and electronics. The parts, different though they may be, are still trying to stay connected, resulting in a vaguely humanoid mashup of slime and bot. A slimebot, if you will.

I don't think it quite matches what you're describing, but my first thought here was an end result looking something like those transluscent coloured electronic cases from around the turn of the millennium.

There could definitely be squishy clear parts and maybe non-squishy clear parts with bubbling slime inside and valves and pipes and wheels
