🧣 Thinkin’ about that super hero idea I had where her power is that she can turn into a living teddy bear at will.
This includes partial transformation, so she can just change whatever part of herself she wants. As a teddy bear she’s unusually resilient to all forms of damage, especially blunt force, because she becomes so squishy. Trying to land a punch on her results in the fist just sinking into her on contact as that specific area of her body bloats up into shock absorbent fabric.
I think she should also be able to sorta build up excess stuffing in her body (the teddy bear “side” of it, anyways) and make it extra dense, letting her release a lot of pressure with explosive force. She could do this with one section of her arm to spring-load an extra-powerful punch with her still-human hand, for example.
Oh, and because why the fuck not, the teddy bear versions of her sensory organs have the strength of those of an actual bear. So if she transforms her nose into a little fabric snout, she can smell better. Bears can probably hear better too, so there’s an excuse for her to have lil bear ears poking through her hair sometimes :3
My favorite thing about this concept aside from it being plushie transformation is that her strategy would revolve around her power being a complete and utter surprise. Nothing about her outfit would be teddy-bear-themed. She’d keep her opponents guessing as to what the hell it is that she’s actually doing to be so resilient to damage or pull off these crazy jumps (she can spring-load her body at will!) or whatever.
Maybe her outfit would be designed with hidden seams and rifts to kinda “open up” around parts that swell into teddy bear mode, and then close back up with she changes back…? I’m not 100% sure how that would work. Also if she was too much of a public figure, the whole surprise thing wouldn’t be as effective… So maybe she doesn’t have an outfit/costume at all? Just a girl who can turn into a teddy bear to fight crime.
Imagine being the guys in the inevitable expository “some guys pick the wrong girl to mug and she beats them up with her powers” scene, though. You and your friends getting absolutely rocked by this girl… and was that a seam running up her arm? Her… furry… arm…? What was up with her ears? Why do you feel like you should be incredibly embarrassed about this?
… I’m a little obsessed with this idea
