Warrior who can never keep their "don't bring x to a y-fight" expressions straight, and so has a sword, a knife, a firearm, and a few secret other things just in case.

'So you want to fight then.'

The giant sighed.

He wasn't the guardian of the bridge. He just built it. It wasn' a toll bridge. It was a simple one for crossing the wild and turbulent river. That was it. But why was it that for the week he'd been here, chopping trees, sawing planks, making sure it was sturdy, why was it now that every adventurer saw fit to fight him?

It had just been a nice thing to do, a civic duty really. The river couldn't wash him away so he'd decided to help out. it had just been a nice idea.

He leaned on the large hammer he had been using to cut another plank, the log before him stil bearing the wedges he's paused in hammering in.

'I'm a bit busy. If it's sparring practise you need, then I'd suggest the Fighters' Guild. I'm a bit tough for ones like you.'

The adventurer shook his head, posed in what he hoped was a dramatic manner then tossed his hair back. 'I'm afraid this no sparring match. I aim to regain some honour if I must do so fighting a formidable foe such as you, then do it I must! Name your weapon, foe!'

The giant regarded the warrior. A good stature, height difference aside. Looked a bit like one of those Errol Flynn types. No doubt he'd have the tale to tell if he did win. Behind im was a heavy bag. He raised a brow.

'Not that you could beat it but...' It wasn't a brandishing of the tree as if he was going to attack. He just held it matter-of-factly. 'I don't think your bag of tricks could quite match. Can I just get on with this? Bridges don't build themselves.'

The adventurer took a step back. He eyed the tree. Then he darted to his bag.

A crossbow... no. A long bow, maybe? A demonic sword he'd bought but claimed it had come from a baron of Hell itself. A dagger. A smaller dagger...

'So, er... You don't have a tree in that then.' The giant spoke conversationally. 'Look, I'm all for a good chat. It doesn't have to be a fight.'

The adventurer had empted everything. Of course there were trees all around but he hadn't a hope in Hell. He put everything back in then smiled. 'I will have to return. But while I may be treeless now, I won't be next time!'

It took him about fifteen minutes to drag his assorted weapons away. The giant shook his head in bemusement. He had been tempted to suggest a fabled bag of holding but the young man seemed to have been in rather a rush to fight.

Now.. oh yes. back to the bridge.
