Does that mean Jesus happened? Christianity is a Thing? And all of that played out exactly as it did in Our Real World Universe??? How do I balance the fact that Jebus Christ was walking on the planet that would eventually spawn YorkDonk New City!??!??

I have so much to say about episodes 42 and 43, but (almost) nothing stood out to me more than Freakin "We've got a Judas Amogus"! Togashi you wild, wild man
(I had to look up his name, the top search result was an article summarizing how he has told others the ending to HxH in the case he passes away before he can finish it himself. So that other's wouldn't be angry with him. That's heartbreaking. This industry. God.)

Well, it was good to see Leorio again. A little disappointed he was once again the butt of the joke by both not properly learning Nen and also rigging up a game that wouldn't earn the group enough money to enter the auction. At least he got the one dub with the phone haggling

And It Gave Us The Chance To See Shizuku Who I Am Being Very Normal About And Also Literally And Audibly Gasped When I Saw Her Because She's Pretty And I Love Her
On the other hand, I've seen her... weapon? Her Weapon in like every intro and outro for the past 20 episodes or so. I probably could've told you what it did by design alone. I think that's what was bleeped out of the previous Media Club Plus episode, and I really don't think it was all that necessary.
Also though it's great and I love it, love to see more of her, especially love to see her in her element (murdering people)

Love to see the whole crew! (Well some) of the Phantom Troupe. This was a really great true introduction. Really let's us see how powerful they are. I knew everyone who went to the auction would be housed, but it was a good way to set the stakes. Just Three (and really only two) of the troupe could do All That, and easily handle three other Nen users, imagine the rest of them

And I guess I'll find out in a couple weeks! I can confidentially say that This. Is the First Time. Where it was actually tough not watching the next batch. I'm really excited to see how these Mob protector Nen Users kick the bucket (they are going to get killed by the phantom troupe) in the next few episodes, and according to Keith there are some really good moments in the next batch.

(I should also mention my other beloved, Melody, has a good backstory too. I truly hope she doesn't get whacked in the next few episodes but there are plenty enough signs that she could)

Just finished watching HxH 39-41
And while the first was a bit slower then I'd've liked

I tell you what

I think

I think I Get It

If this show can keep up the pace that 40 and 41 set, I get why people love this so much

Again, the Kurapika flashback and powerpoint were okay, and the introduction of his coworkers was jarring, but everything else was so fun!

I love that after having learned Nen, Kurapika's lips are fuller

The weird characters were fun to see in action. While overall somewhat predictable, the mansion sequence was fun!

And we finally got introduced to the bad guys! And we got introduced to HER!!!! Shizuku! My new favorite character!
I've only known her for half an episode but if anything happens to her I'd kill myself!
She's probably killed people but who cares she's hot! (that's the new one, right?)

AND ALSO

I've known Melody for three episodes and if anything happened to Her I'd Kill Myself And Then Everyone Else! (editors note, yes I wrote that backwards, but I'm sticking to it. I'd manifest as a specter and end humanity as we know it)
From the second I saw her I loved her vibe, she's the best!
Music Hunter! Hell Yeah! She's shaped like a friend! Her cautious gazes! She's the best!

Anyway, really excited to see what these guys all get up to, the dominoes are set, the boulder is at the top of the hill, and I hope I enjoy the carnage as much as the build up

(And Kurapika's little blush during that first Hunterpedia when Gon and Killua got close to each other was really cute)

Wow, what a nice couple of episodes (HxH 37-38)

Especially so the first. It was honestly beautiful seeing Gon and Killua just being kids; just being friends.

Mito is great, her relationship with Gon is wonderful, love Killua's reactions to everything

Gon's confession to Killua, also his profession that Mito Is his mom

10/10 episode

And then we learn Killua's a Gamer™, get further confirmation that Ging sucks (and maybe Gon really shouldn't be racing after him)

And, I dunno Gon. I get that you love Mito, but, like, it wouldn't have hurt to learn at least a little bit about your real mom. Ging sounds like he sucks, but she might be okay, and had other circumstances preventing her from being in your life.

Last couple points, I realized I really like Mito's necklace

And I started to wonder, why were Kurapika and Leorio on Whale Island in the first episode? (Don't answer this if the show does later on)

For those not listening along, Media Club Plus opened with a live stream where some of the cast showed Jack a few screenshots from the show. This was the first time they saw anything, it was the first time I saw anything (mostly).

And One Of Those Was The Glass Test! A pointing at the screen moment, a That's Chappy moment! It finally has arrived!

SCHWING???????!!?!?!!?!!!?!!!!!????

Like from Wayne's World????
Really???????

It took a lot to get here. This arc has been, to me, paced very poorly. I get that the viewer needed to learn about Nen/Magic at some point, but I really wish this knowledge was sprinkled throughout, not delivered through long monologues.

But these episodes, they flew.

It was really funny that the 3 main bad guys from this arc said they shouldn't reat Killua and Gon as regular kids. Why Would You? They're 12 and quickly fought up to level 200? They are so obviously Not Normal, Why Would You Ever Assume So?

Regardless, the fights were really fun to watch! In that they all had one major twist that was entertaining, and then the show moved onto the next.

And the real climax was incredibly satisfying. Of course I knew (rather, intuited) that Gon would punch Hisoka in the face and return the number cards. But that first moment when the music cut out was incredibly tense and exciting. Very well done stuff there. That punch really was the climax of the arc. The next episode was just wrapping up loose ends (y'know, the rest of the fight + the two leaving)

The Hunter Exams Are Over Actually Truly For Real This Time I Mean It (Probably)

Finally Gon can feel good about being a hunter, and (most) everyone else started to learn about Nen too. Of course its a weird blocker, don't want too many people knowing about Nen. Unless you already knew it going in. Or you watch these fights at the battle arena. But its super secret otherwise.

And I'm excited for Gon to bring his boyfriend over to see his mother figure.

Really solid episodes this time around! Hopefully the rest of the series will keep up this pace
