tbh, I think if this place could handle a large userbase of twitter exodus furries all signing up at once, it'd beat out bsky after people realized that transferring to a new spot that promises to give you the same fix as the old one, isn't going to resolve all the grievances that came with it.

It's still a startup owned by an out of touch billionaire who's gonna prioritize his money over your enjoyment, it's just kind of a matter of time until Jack does something more predatory than forcing non-users to have an account to view anything there; or sells this at a profit to someone even dumber and more egotistical than he is, 'cause we already saw that happen before with Twitter and Tumblr.

but until they have that small revelation, I'm happier with them sticking to what they know. I don't really want or need every furry in one concise space, I want the ones that will use and respect the space they have, especially because this one is still pretty small.

Yeah, like everyone would either joke or earnestly say they hate Twitter, ON Twitter

the fact this place isn't like Twitter at all is simultaneously the easiest sell for likeminded people and the easiest pass for terminally online keyboard warriors

it makes this space great

i feel the same. the death of twitter is presenting us with an opportunity to create something new and better than what we had before. its a little disappointing that so many twitter users are content to go back to the old status quo of pre-elon twitter with bluesky. twitter was already circling down the drain before elon bought it so i dont think bluesky is sustainable. but at the same time, i dont need all the number-driven clout chasers here. ppl on cohost are so relaxed and friendly, and i am starting to accept that maybe im not destined to get along well with all the ppl who would rather be on twitter 2 than here

yeah, it was all just a big ol' numbers game, and the only way to keep the numbers growing is to keep moderation and quality standards as low as the ground allows it. It should be no wonder that people there fight all the time, or why the userbase here is smaller, conflict-oriented people don't make it past the community guidelines of this place

Well, technically, Jack is just ⅓ of the board at Bluesky, and basically got chased off of the site itself a month ago,

but one of the other board members (who's also the CEO!) got her start in the industry doing crypto stuff, lmao. So, uh, really inspiring provenance for a social media platform right there.

I am trying my best to convince my friends to join by posting smut! Furry spaces are run by smut. And once you get a large enough group of furries together posting smut, it will start to snowball and attract more furries. From there, it becomes self-sustaining.
