This is a weird one. Without Warning, as far as I know, is a TV movie that was only ever shown once with little hype. I managed to trace down a TV Guide entry that gave a pretty good summary, but the core conceit is that it was a Breaking News broadcast that interrupted a movie about asteroids hitting the earth featuring actual newscasters as themselves and journalists along with actors filling out the other roles. Because they had some experience with previous events along the same line, there were constant reminders at every commercial break and occasional via chryon at the bottom of the screen that this was not a real broadcast and was entirely fiction.

The plot is basically solid and I won't go into it here (it's right there! go watch it, it's pretty good). What makes it more interesting now is that it shows how The News used to be. This was Oct. 1994, which puts it close to the beginning of what would become the 24 Hour News Cycle. The OJ trial was in full swing, and CNN was starting to get more and more viewers. There was only one direct video of the first asteroid event, and only because somebody was taking a home video of their kids trick or treating! People pushed back on stonewalling sources and called guests out on their shit! I'm not saying it was better back then, it's just amazing what a weird time capsule this is.
