I remember that time a family friend said "Hey, your mom tells me you like Star Wars." She had seen a tattered comic book for sale for 25¢ next to the register at a thrift store and had bought it for me since she was going to see us later that day. It was the such a completely bonkers piece of media, something that my child brain was so unprepared for at the time, that it left me wondering, for several solid weeks, "Do I even know what Star Wars is?"
