So like in 2002, this movie, SIMONE came out, and the premise of it was an AI actress who could make perfect photorealistic footage. And it was a movie, about a fake digital woman, so they didn't credit the actress who played the AI actress.
And a body of people, INCLUDING CRITICS thought that this was a real expression of the technology, to the point where it got the screen actors guild to lock and load about AI actors
Simone's not a good movie but man it's hard to not think about it when ever I hear about someone who ostensibly is paid to be good at knowing about technology just showing what an utter hole they have between their ears
