I thought the RF signal it sent was only a prompt for the doll to play some pre-recorded lines and a few motor movements BUT it's actually sending full audio and motor movements from the data encoded in the overscan as well as somehow knowing which doll to broadcast to.
Still repetitive pre-recorded lines, but with a twist!
