Oh...I really like flowers, both in the full version and the lineart one. It's interesting how different the negative space comes across between them.

"make NEW thumbnails (optional)" Very curious how often you do this, or if this step's for pieces you're very serious about

(For someone who doesn't like coloring, yours are very nice!!)

sometimes i make new thumbnails when i'm in the middle of figuring out the colors! it's usually because the composition feels off or i decided to try something COMPLETELY different -- either way i never really use the new thumbnails and instead i just save them for future pieces :D

(that's so sweet to hear, thank you!!)

SUPER LOVE THIS DETAILED RETROSPECTIVE OF SORTS. As an amateur, it's both delightful to read and informative, in terms of trying to understand the process. Really glad perseverance and inspiration pulled through to finish this piece!! When I saw it for the first time a bit ago, was genuinely shocked a bit by it, in a good way. The blood splatters and the wound are super impactful alongside that smile (full of innocence and delight for sure, nothing sinister or deranged here at all, pff).

But it's also super interesting how much went into creating this, between the numerous first ideas and all of the steps that went into actually sketching/lining/coloring the thing holy moly... IT'S A LOT FOR A LOT, I SUPPOSE!!! This piece is really powerful. Once again, glad it was made!!! Hopefully future ventures with this heart-gouged individual and/or pieces with similar, intense vibes can be as fulfilling!!!

i'm glad to hear that! granted this post is mostly my reflections and not much about the technical process hahah i gave myself as much room as i can to experiment with this piece, and it's definitely something i want to try again in the future

thank you for your kind words! :D

omg to be perceived as having emily carroll vibes is such an honor, thank you!! 😳 i wanted to be more conscious about how i make art, so writing the process here feels like a good start haha
