Notice the muscles and they fact they aren't in a bikini with huge boobs. Honestly this game is how I want all my 3D Dungeon RPGs to go. It's right there on the line between that anime look and sticking to traditional, painterly style, oil painting like.
The way they are going now is catering to gross otaku culture with lots of underage girls and other garbage.
We can also see that this demon lady isn't super skinny either and she's posed like she's having a fun time. No sultry seductresses' here despite she's wearing a purple one piece. Also her hair becomes like bat wings. (There's a succubus monster as well as an incubus. He's pretty. On next slide...)
I really hate that we didn't get Elminage 2 and 3 because Gothic is technically Elminage 4.
These designs are seen throughout the game series.
In Gothic you can even be no gender.
I also love this game for the "strange" enemies is has like the Snail Lich that was posted.
Such as:
King Emperor Penguin. It's just a penguin with a crown, staff and royal cape
Tamagon: A baby dragon with a pacifier. Why would you kill it? (Play on Tamago and Dragon)
A rainbow nyancat-like dragon: I have no idea what's going on with this one, but it's cool.
And this panther-like that that only appears like a painting on trees.
