Sometimes I think I have too many books (objectively true) but right now I am reading a Yeats collection of Irish folk and fairy tales from my grandmother's personal library and thinking of how she and my grandfather, both first generation Irish immigrants, probably bought this to learn more about their own ancestor's historys, and how I in turn am reading that to feel that connection to them, and one of the wonderful things about books (and physical media in general, I suppose) is the fact that they can get passed down or redistributed in ways completely divorced from the original mode of aquisition, and that makes my own collection feel like it has more value and weight. Anyway, hope my grandkids appreciate the twenty volumes of Ranma 1/2 I bequeath them.
