is how much it reveals to me, personally, how constant immediate feedback on everything even tangentially related to my posts causes more and more anxiety over shit that I don't even really care about.
It took me a minute to realize that there's no notifications telling me that other people have shared something that I shared. Which makes sense, because why would I really need to know that information, besides showing me the scope that my account carries. But I'm not fuckjerry or whatever, I don't make any money off of sharing this stuff, I do because I personally find it interesting or funny. But being hyperaware of not only what I am literally saying, but what I am also implying by sharing other people's work, just leads me to clam up in my OWN work cause I'm already focusing on the potential reactions out of my control, which just gums everything up. Twitter showing the viewcount kinda solidified this for me, but Cohost omitting a lot of the baked in notifications on a lot of these websites is breaking down for me what exactly I find somewhat repellent about social media to begin with.
This is all to say, I am glad Cohost has created a comfortable space for me to finally champion my preferred cause: the Barefoot Is Legal movement.
