So everyone knows the term "Keep Calm and Carry On" comes from a WWII era poster in Great Britain, but they weren't really distributed widely when they were made and mostly had been forgotten. The poster didn't really come into the public consciousness until 2000, when a stash was found and it quickly exploded into a easily replicated meme, spawning an industry of cutesy reinterpretations.
Anyway, The Golden Girls aired from 1985 to 1992, so it was off the air well before the poster really became the cultural object it is now. So I keep looking at that "Keep Calm and Eat Cheesecake" shit and it's unexpectedly pissing me off. What, you're telling me Dorothy was in the blitz? Get the fuck out of here.
