I have been listening to Sleighed '99, this wonderful Christmas playlist by Jack Read of pre millennium Christmas songs, with an emphasis on deep cuts and ephemera, done over nine nights. It is wonderful time and has been adding some much appreciated color to the Christmas Eve chores. Anyway, this is how I discovered La Bouche has a Christmas song???

Backstory required! So The AV Club used to be this wonderful website before it was sold off, gutted out and made into a corpse of itself. One of their features was a video series called A.V. Club Undercover, where they would invite bands in to cover classic songs. It was a great series, most notably any of the times they got GWAR to come through.

In 2010 they did a riff on this series called "Holiday Undercover," where of course the visiting bands would sing Christmas music. When they had Andrew W.K. come through it was at the same time the office's mailman came through. He had appeared in a couple of the videos before (they had a Taste Test series where they got his opinions on some of the items a few times) so they invited him to come in for the song. The result is one of my favorite Christmas things. I watch it every year, it never fails to make me smile.
