We started watching the Karakuri Circus anime adaptation in my house cause my wife loves Circuses, and while enjoyable it becomes increasingly obvious that they are ripping out everything they can and more to fit the 40 something volumes into 36 episodes.

Like after a point you have to stop and go 'whatever happened to the circus?'

The answer seems to be that they dropped the circus.

They dropped the circus in a show called Karakuri Circus.

And the side of the story that they do follow is insanely rushed too. Characters just pop into existence like they were always there, and major plot developments happen in between episodes.

Feels bad.
