I played Alisa for a bit and wanted to write up some quick thoughts for people on the fence.
Alisa is a Survival horror game which so far I think I like.
We play as Alisa who was tracking down a criminal that stole some important blueprints. Before getting abducted and waking up in 'The Dollhouse'. A mysterious mansion filled with traps, dolls, clowns, and tiny sheet ghosts on tricycles. It's already gotten pretty surreal in that department. Is it faithful to what a PS1 could do back in the day? Not sure but I like it!
Before you start the game asks if you want auto aim at the cost of less currency. Hard to make that decision when you don't know what it means, but I clicked auto aim because I think RE and SH had those options? But I restarted cause currency might be pretty important.
Enemies drop it and it's for everything. Weapons, ammo, costumes, medkits, and even saving. There's still some ammo to be found but it seems like you'll be buying most things. I hear auto aim might be available later as an upgrade anyway, so might be best to tough it out.
Your costumes actually give perks and defense, key item management doesn't seem a focus. You have dedciated two weapon slots, and key items go elsewhere. There is an item box though.
I think what it's doing is pretty cool so far but my biggest problem with the game by far is: YOU CAN'T MOVE WITH THE D-PAD.
I always used d pad for precise movements with tank controls but now I stead I'm snaking wildly trying to steer with the analog. Hopefully this can be fixed but this game came out a while ago on PC so idk.
