Not to jinx it but the first few hours of FF2 pixel remaster have been a lot of fun.
All the equipment affecting your characters in various ways, and seeing what you can get away with or build your character's via play style is cool.

In my understanding Pixel Remaster smooths out some of the jankness from the older versions and leaves lot of the cool and interesting aspects of the game that tend to be forgotten when people talk about it, as one of the most universally reviled Final Fantasies.
Yeah I don't want to imply that the game has always been this good, just that now it seems like a really good version of what it is.
Except I'm still turning off random encounters now and then cause damn, it's a lot.
I should have maybe done that too. One of my biggest gripes with FF2 was the dungeons, especially hated them being filled with doors most which lead to middle of empty rooms that were just big enough to likely trigger an random battle.
