I mentioned earlier in the week that my town was holding a pride fest, and it was today! I didn't have the willpower to wake up before 10am to see the parade, but I got to the park in the early afternoon to see the drag shows!
Above, you can see the scale of the crowd. Small, but enthusiastic. Out of frame are the vendor stalls with some more people. I caught the tail end of this show, and then there was a break for lunch. I walked into downtown to a local sandwich place, then walked back to catch the next one.
Before I left, the final song was a very emotional one, and I found myself getting kind of overwhelmed by the feeling of being there, surrounded by a local queer population that had been largely invisible to me before. I wasn't alone anymore. I shed a couple tears, but thankfully not enough to ruin my eye-shadow.
