chaiyya chaiyya is from a 1998 movie called dil se. i have not seen this movie but this song is a classic at desi-american get-togethers and indian independence day celebrations and the like. it also served as the track for the opening scene of spike lee's inside man! i haven't seen this one either but i'm hoping to give it a watch soon.
chaiyya means shade; chale chaiyya is "walk in shade", and sar ishq ki chaaon chal chaiyya is "walk in the shade of love."
Chaiyya Chaiyya is a legit banger, I listen to it all the time. First heard it in the credits of Inside Man, and was like damn what is that absolute bop??
