I love this shit, too! I still make it now and then even though I'm vegetarian. (I'd say I'm pescatarian, but the only fish I like is tuna, so...) I think my mom added peas (which I hate, so I guess she wanted to sneak them in where I'd eat them rather than give me broccoli or some other veg I liked), and our version included cheese. One time I made it with one of those flavored tuna packs, which I absolutely recommend.
I have never tried those packets, but perhaps I will one of these days.
